Open Reply to a letter Sir, I wrote a letter on vote fixed to no result on a referendum a few years ago where I stated a lack of trust in politicians’ by the public, so your news item is of no surprise to me and many more in Swansea. We are being treated with contempt, how can one conservative councillor be paid £12.885 for effectively only attending two council meetings in one year? If you add this sum by 72 councillors for Swansea plus every councillor in Wales plus 60 Welsh assembly members and the additionally MP in London and MEPs the amounts are huge, do we need so many politicians and councillors? Why can’t we run our affairs in Swansea with only 50% of councillors I know a company that ran with thousands of workers with very little management. Also when you see a number of family members on the same council you have to ask what’s going on. Welsh Assembly I like many others I though it would be a good idea originally, but I was quickly put off when one of the first things they did was give themselves a 30% wage up lift in their wage! And wasted payments one million on a large hole in the ground and built a new building when there was no requirement. Yours Sincerely James Cole
