Open letter to the county representative igoji east ward, Hon.Kireria Mwobobia. Dear Sir, It is was with great pleasure that we campaigned for you on the premise that you were young, educated and visionary enough to propel our lovely area to the next level.A lot of propaganda was hurled hence and forth during the 2011 by election after the demise of Councillor Tito but still the youth of Igoji propelled you to the county office with some overwhelming support. The March 4th election was no different, the youth were still instrumental in making sure you became the very first county rep. for Igoji east ward elected under the new constitution dispensation. The youth have a lot of faith in you sir.The youth have a lot of confidence in you to fast track infrastructural development in particular so that the place can develop at a normal pace. Last week i was in Igoji market and i marvelled at the very poor road network that leads from Egoji stage via sundowner to St.Mary school.as i was driving down the road from sundowner, I met some young men spreading some hardcore patches a long the road in the name of undertaking some routine maintenance.Anyone who has gone to school past class 2 could see that what is being done was some shoddy work that could not last past a month.true to my statement, the light showers that the area has experienced for the last few days has washed away the hardcore stones from the road into the drainage trenches thus impeding drainage. As a result, the rain water had to find alternative route through peoples plots and shambas thanks to the bogus road repair that was undertaken a few days ago. This morning,Igoji market residents living a few meters a long the road woke up to a stressing day having to dig up some massive lumps of soil that had been eroded up stream into their door steps. Reportedly, there is also a pit latrine that bursted up and drained its waste into peoples houses and farms. I dont know if you aware of the frustration that we have as residents and investors in Igoji market due to the very poor state of the road leading to and from Igoji market. I am sure you are aware that since 2009,traders and investors in Igoji market had refused to get trading licences and paying other county council levies solely due to the very poor state of the road until last week when they volunteered to get the 2014 licenses.politics aside, the money spend on repairing that road was not from your pocket from the taxpayer and all of it has gone down the drain quite literally. In addition, our businesses continue stagnating due to the very poor state of that road. I am sure there are graders, tippers and tractors in Meru county and the monies allocated for the maintenance of these road would be enough to fuel them so that we can have some good work done and get value for our taxes. Please look onto this honourable sir.
