Open your hearts to the love God instills....God loves us tenderly. What he gives us is not to be kept under lock and key, BUT TO BE SHARED... Mother Theresa. This past days I had been so overwhelmed with the worries about my family. When I saw the path of the typhoon Yolanda or widely known Haiyan, I was greatly devastated. Samar, Tacloban, Daanbantayan, Bantayan, Medillien, Bogo...put me in the verge of hopelessness. My birthplace, Tapilon Daanbantayan, Cebu was a tiny barangay with many poor neighborhood along the coastal area of the northern tip of Daanbantayan. My father, brothers and sistes with their children, relatives and friends were there and for sure be in that horrifying situation. Three days of excruciating waiting before I learned that my family were spared. However, when I saw the damage in our community, I am overwhelmed with self-pity. I wanted to help....but my family was helpless too. So I decided to campaign for my poor neighbors who lost their houses, source of living and hardly had food. I think all of us are aware that the center of attention around the world are in the badly hit areas like Tacloban. Millions of dollars from many countries were pouring to this area. But may we never forget those living in remote and tiny areas that until now still NEVER received any help, and are currently suffering from hunger and hopelessness. I am appealing to the members of the Filipino Educators Federation of Louisiana and Filipino Community to extend your kindness to my badly devastated neighborhood. I will coordinate to our barangay captain to facilitate our financial support so that it will surely reach to the community. Mommy Eva, please include this in our agenda. I THANK YOU ALL IN ADVANCE!!
