Opening speech at the ILO Workshop on Migrant Workers at Golden Sand Hotel, Sihanouk Ville, Cambodia. 26-27 June 2014 +Respect to: -Bro Pong-sul, ILO worker specialist -Bro Klaing Rim, ILO NPC migrant workers -Brothers and sisters who are trade union leaders +Globalization of economy> people migrate for better earning and better pays>some of them have fallen on the trap of trafficking by traffickers> >Thailand, China, Malaysia, Korea, etc. +protection measures: Mrc 1-MOU on migrant workers signed between TU Thai and Cam 2-MOU for Malaysia being consulted. 3-Gov set up different laws to protect migrant workers 4-Gov cut the cost for migrant workers recently- -passport=$4; -work permit=$10; -E-Visa=$20; -transportation=$10; -Food while traveling to Thailand=$5 =>$49 =>$500-$600 +Proposal: >ILO shall set up MRC at CCTU and NACC. At the present, only with CLC >DSA shall be increased up to $50, $25 is not enough. +I wish the workshop to be successful and wish the participants to be good luck during the workshop and travel back home. +I declare to open the workshop from now.
