Operation Acoustic Kitty Acoustic Kitty was a top secret 1960s - TopicsExpress

Operation Acoustic Kitty Acoustic Kitty was a top secret 1960s CIA project attempting to use cats in spy missions, intended to spy on the Kremlin and Soviet embassies. In an hour-long procedure, a veterinary surgeon transformed the furry feline into an elite spy, implanting a microphone in her ear canal and a small radio transmitter at the base of her skull. The first Acoustic Kitty mission was to eavesdrop on two men in a park outside the Soviet compound on Wisconsin Avenue in Washington, D.C. It cost nearly $20 million in surgical and training expenses, however the feline was hit and killed by a taxi almost immediately after being let out on her first job. Now that was really spying! :)
