Operation Russian Kitty Airlift Update - Greetings All! We - TopicsExpress

Operation Russian Kitty Airlift Update - Greetings All! We returned safely last evening after an early and long day of travel. We arrived at the airport at 4 am. The lovely, dedicated, generous vet who finalizes the animals paperwork to leave the country picked up the cats at 2 am from the foster and brought them to us at the airport. Not completely unexpected, the airlines had no record of us traveling with cats...but allowed us to take them anyway once the manager got involved and found the paperwork. We were told that we were not permitted to travel with 9 cats, but that was not an issue (thankfully) because we were only able to return with 4 cats. Due to limitations on the number of crates as well as concerns about putting multiple cats in one crate, we were only able to take 2 in the cabin with us and 2 as checked baggage. They all traveled well and made friends with the crew and some passengers along the way. But there are more to get - including a pressing need to rescue the pups we share with you. So stay tuned as we now work to hopefully develop some strategic partnerships with some local folks in the US and in Russia to keep moving forward. It is clear that things are uncertain in Russia with the Ruble declining in value daily, jobs uncertain and rules and regulations by the government also changing quickly and without notice. This is all makes it very difficult to do any kind of business, but we will keep moving forward.....
