Opinions needed and really wanted.....My mother in law was in an assisted living home in Wichita. She was placed there by her United Health Care worker. My husband has power of attorney over everything for her. There were a lot of problems with his brother, her social security, and her rent not getting payed. My husband finally took over her debit card to make sure her rent was paid. Mays was paid no problem. In June he had a hard time getting someone in the financial office to answer the phone and call him back. The record of these calls are still in his phone. Near the end of June he finally hooked up with the right person and the bill was paid plus extra as agreed on to pay the past due. This is when we found out his mom was being put out. The financial office said for non payment but when I spoke to the director turns out his brother had a lot to do with it. So, she is no longer living there. Now in July and also August we find that there is no money on her debit card. Two months of Social Security gone. We have the card, his mom has been in the hospital this whole time and the assisted living place has all the info needed to get the money. Yes, his mom still owed them money which we told them we would work on paying off as soon as we got her settled in a new place. No one gave them permission to take the money if it was them. We are having a hard time getting help tracing where the money went. The bank ,in Texas, wants my husbands original power of attorney papers before they will tell him where the money went. Not sending those and they refuse to take a copy. His mom cant help because she has Parkinsons. Any ideas or opinions?
