Opinions please: I had someone come in today returning a dog they adopted 5 days ago. I asked why they were returning her. They said because we took her to the vet and she has a problem with her leg and we cant afford it I said ok, what did the vet say it was? What did the x-rays show?..their response oh we didnt pay for X-rays, we dont have money for that...ok I get it (thats what I said to myself). I proceed to intake the dog. I notice the medical stated luxating patella in it before she was adopted so they had to have known about it because they would have had to sign a medical waiver so I asked them about it and yep they did indeed know about it when they adopted her. Sooooo my question is, if you knew what she more than likely had and knew she would need X-rays and surgery why now did u change ur mind???? I was annoyed by them at this point because they were so careless and even asked if they could get a new collar when they adopted another dog. I just said idk go speak to a customer service supervisor. I placed a DNA on them with a note expressing my feelings about the situation. Am I being too judgmental? I just didnt think they should be able to adopt if they adopted knowing the medical issues and then now decided they cant afford it....thoughts? I like to know if Im wrong...
