Orange County, CA Buster Needs Rescue Placement ASAP!!! Buster (A1254740) an 11 month old Pit Bull, arrived at the shelter in June after being hit by a car. Through our non-profit organization Noble Friends Foundation, funds were raised to provide surgery to repair multiple leg fractures. Buster had surgery to repair his injuries and at that time, the vet noted that he has some nerve damage and abnormalities of the growth plates on the right front leg. The vet feels that with aggressive physical therapy, Buster’s rear leg will recover and the front leg will likely improve (although he will always have nerve damage and may never use the leg perfectly). Unfortunately, the shelter/kennel environment has been very hard on Buster and he is not recovering well enough for adoption at the shelter. His mental state is being negatively affected in this environment and he has developed a hygroma on his leg (a fluid filled sack near the nerve from laying in the kennel). Our concern over Buster’s mental wellness and his physical progress has meant that we can no longer keep Buster at the shelter. We are desperately reaching out to our Adoption Partners in hopes that one of you will be able to pull him. We are offering him as part of our LIFE Program, which means that there will be no fees associated with pulling him. We are also willing to use some of our medical funds to take him back to the surgeon and have the hygroma drained/wrapped. We could even make arrangements to have your group pick him up directly from there so that you could speak with the vet regarding Buster’s physical therapy and ongoing care. We would be happy to provide Buster’s medical history as well. Please let us know if your group would be interested in helping Buster get out of the shelter. Buster has had the surgery to remodel his hip. His surgery cost was $1400.00 He is still favoring his front leg, but is walking on it. He will be available soon- Buster will need continous therapy to help him build strength in his legs,water therapy /swimming would be great! He is a very silly wiggle butt,very happy & playful. He needs to learn his basic obedience and to get some socialization- He has not displayed any negative reaction towards other dogs . He has been kenneled for over 1 month now due to his severe injuries but he is on the road to recovery and will need a caring family who can give him the time & dedication he needs to be a great family dog ALSO; Please help by sending a donation to noblefriendsfoundation.org to help cover his costs OC incurred by having his surgery.
