Organic Food and Wellness Company seeks Eco Conscious Team Members (Belmont & Elston) We are downtown Chicago based fast growing, family owned, natural manufacturing company seeking conscientious employees to become reliable team players. Job will involve multi-tasking as an assistant in shipping, packaging, maintenance and sanitation. We are a small business and we want someone who knows how a small business operates. We want someone who: Energetic, positive & fun personality Ability to make people smile Must be quick and efficient with computers & phone systems Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment Likes to contribute to the team Is a self-starter Likes to deal with people Is always looking for a better way to do things Can think on their feet Ideal candidate knows and or has past experience in warehouse custodial maintenance, organic food, alternative health, or natural product industry and is passionate about our environment. MUST have previous work experience in the above. MUST have previous experience working in a grocery / food / organic products manufacturing or distribution facility. Must be able to work around organic spices, herbs, nuts, seeds etc. Other Considerations: - Familiarity with machines, some of which require technical experience. - Knowledge of sanitation standards and FDA food service regulations - Previous experience in industry related field. - Ability to multitask and hit hard deadlines. - Good verbal and written communication skills - Independent worker with ability to work in team environment - Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel - Good math skills (conversion of metric and imperial units) - A positive attitude - Ability to lift 60 lbs - Reliable transportation. Work hours are around 30-35 hours / week. Can be more when work load is heavier. Base training (one month) pay starts at $10- $11/ hour and definitely more for the right candidate. Right candidates will be made permanent with an INCREASE in pay after initial training period. Other benefits (bonus, paid leave, vacation time off, health care support etc.,) available with progress in the company.
