Orion Nebula. My first attempt here was using my Canon 60Da and a 50-250mm lens, +/-16 mins exposure (100x10s lights only) @ ISO 400 from my backyard in durban under some pretty heavily light polluted skies. Our stadium glows :( A couple months ago my girlfriend and I went on a bit of a road trip out to the Southern Drakensberg so finally had a chance to test my newly purchased second hand Orion 8 Skyview Pro reflector. I pointed at the same object and was pretty blown away at the result, its truly amazing how much light pollution our citys generate! I only managed to capture +/- 8mins exposure (ISO 800) before it disappeared behind some trees but cant wait to go back to the berg soon and try my luck again with hopefully 60mins + exposure. Images processed in PixInsight.
