Orlando Pirates striker Kermit Erasmus has voiced his backing of under-fire Bafana Bafana striker Tokelo Rantie. Bafana Bafana striker Rantie missed a ‘crucial’ penalty as Algeria fought back from a goal down to beat Bafana 3-1 in the sides opening match at the Africa Cup of Nations showpiece currently underway in Equatorial Guinea. Rantie’s miss saw the FC Bournemouth striker suffe abuse on social media in South Africa. “He must just keep his head up and remain focused.” Erasmus. “He mustn’t be under pressure or feel under pressure. These things happen and they are part of the game.” “He must put this last game behind him, because it is now a thing of the past.” “We still need him to retain focus for the next two games.” Meanwhile the 24-year-old striker, Erasmus also reiterated that he hasn’t given up hope of reclaiming a place in the Bafana setup himself. “Yes, I’m not with the team right now, but I believe that everything has its own time and so my turn will also come.” “So, I am just waiting for it.”
