Ortley Beach desperately needs parkland and open space! Please join residents at the Ocean County Board of Freeholders meeting on Wednesday, August 6th at 4:00 pm to support our cause! The Ocean County Utility Authority owns 5 1/2 acres of property between Fielder and 8th Aves in Ortley Beach. Only a small potion is used by the utility authority and the rest sits fenced, locked and vacant. The land was purchased with public, municipal funds, but for years and years the Utility Authority has hogged this property, never used it and never allowed it to be converted to open space parkland. Meet us at the August 6th Ocean County Freeholders meeting, Ocean Cty Admin. Bldg. 101 Hooper Ave, Toms River at 4:00 sharp, or join the group leaving the Moose Club in Ortley Beach on Aug 6th at 3:20pm from 1801 Bay Blvd, Ortley Beach. We need parkland and now, post Sandy, is the time to make improvements. We need people to support us at this meeting - PLEASE COME!
