Oscar has been sentenced. 5 years. He will have the rest of his life with the guilt on his conscience-whether he meant to kill her or not. People will always speculate and regurgitate their views. The court system made their ruling. Reevas mom and family who only granted interviews to glossy magazines and international newspapers must remember that every citizen who has lost a loved one in a case of homicide feels the same pain, anger and helplessness. They( The Steenkamps) must realize whilst their case was broadacast globally, other cases were being dealt with locally sans the media hype. Every murdered victim and their loved ones should be afforded the compassion and empathy her parents and family received. Would it be less glamorized if Oscar worked an ordinary 9 to 5 job as a clerk and Reeva was just a regular Jane? I think not. So for Gods sake give it a rest. You wasted the taxpayers money enough. Stop the milking for sympathy. You are not alone.Spare a thought for the unsung murdered victims and their families who never got to see their assailants convicted. Death is the leveller. No one is immune to its eventual grim grip.
