Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common form of arthritis and occurs as a result of aging and wear and tear on a joint. OA is the leading cause of chronic disability in the United States and affects more than 20 million Americans. It gradually worsens with time and no cure exists, but treatments can slow the progression of the disease, relieve pain and improve joint function.
