Otafiire and Kategaya Questioned Why Museveni Sacked Them, None From Mbabazi. By Timothy Kalyegira of Kampala Express It was noteworthy because one of the most consistent criticisms leveled against Mbabazi is his arrogance. When President Museveni in the early 2000s reshuffled the powerful Minister Col Kahinda Otafiire, he burst out, saying i can cause trouble. When the same fate befell the first Deputy PrimeMinister, Eriya Kategaya, he took sounded indignant and in media interviews, such as on the then Andrew Mwenda Live talkshow on KFM defiantly wondered how Museveni could dismiss someone as important as he. None of this has been heard so far from the man widely believed to be planning a Presidential bid and often perceived as arrogant and self-important. Abit of grumbling and defiance was heard from Mbabazis wife Jacqueline and some might argue that she is his public face and voice and reflects his true thoughts. But officially atleast Mbabazi has retained his composure just as he did in Kyankwazi and there after as he was denounced by Junior NRM members of parliament. The most Mbabazi said of the attacks on him on him at Kyankwazi was on saturday march 8 while appearing on Capital FMs talkshow , the Capital Gabg, where he called on Uganda Parents to better mentor their children. Mbabazis point was that even if one disagreed with their elders politically it was not necessarily to abuse and heckle them that way in public.
