Other Danbury Fair memorabilia can be found at Rosy Tomorrows, a restaurant off Mill Plain Road that opened a year before the fairs last season. The restaurant itself is named for Rosy, an orphan who opened a food booth at the fair in 1915 near the beer pavilion. Gary Kurz, owner of the restaurant, said he attended the auction in 1982 and purchased dozens of items from the fair in an attempt to preserve history. The fair was so important to the people of Danbury, that I felt some of these artifacts should be kept locally, he said. Many of the items he purchased still adorn the restaurant, including the trapeze artist hanging above the bar and a model of an early biplane that was once displayed in the fairs Ford Museum.Perhaps one of the more interesting pieces is a sign that sits outside the restaurant welcoming people to the 1981 fair, which says, See you again next year.
