Other goals for our sheriffs office? Last one for this posting.......ONLY 2 WEEKS LEFT!! Time is running out to have disclosure on these topics to which it would appear Mr. Bieber is happy to engage his groupies, not so much with anyone on the fence or really looking for information...just because we ask questions, look for answers, does not mean we are against you in fact, being newer in the area, I was keenly interested in hearing what you had to say, what you wanted to accomplish, what you believed in, and how you would make a good sheriff. You entered an arena of public scrutiny...and yet the majority of people I have asked cant tell me what you stand for, why I should vote for you, and your own actions speak louder than your ...oh wait, most of your words also speak badly of you too...The Wright campaign ran pre primary on the merits of his accomplishments, choosing not to mud sling...not make disparaging comments about his opponents or even defend those negative comments made about him because he relied on the strength of his record as our Sheriff, the same can not be said of you Mr. Bieber. Talk about your misdirects... If we are going to spend money lets invest in our K-9s so they can work more and fundraise less. *The Shawano Police Dept and Sheriffs Dept must start training and cooperating together. We should have a combined Drug Task Force, K-9 unit, Special Response Team, etc,... Want to talk about accomplishments? Sheriff Randy Wright formulated the plan and enacted it, working and cooperating together with many sources to replace a K-9 unit that although it is not currently funded by our taxpayer dollars, really deserves to be. That is the progression of the program. They spend time fundraising, because that is the nature of the organization that raises, trains, and puts these fine animals to work...they are a non-profit....so they work off of donations.... It is my understanding that several major financial commitments of the county have been paid off. The funding is available to continue and grow the K-9 program and will be a priority of Sheriff Wrights next term in office. If you want the details, TALK TO HIM! But WOW! What an innovative and creative cutting edge way to get the resources needed to his workers. And so far, SAVED US, THE TAXPAYERS the cost of development. Did you know that Sheriff Wright has never overspent his budget? That HE has to write the budget? That he has come in UNDER budget? The Drug Task Force is a collaboration of all the communities in the county, not just the city of Shawano. It is alive and well tallying up some of the largest and most productive drug raids in the county...Also due to Sheriff Randy Wright. He wont often toot his own horn, so I will do it for him, but if any of my facts are in question, then the best source of information is directly from Sheriff Wright....which he would be addressing in a public debate....if he could get one! Where did the notion that these are not active programs come from? And that being the case, how can Mr. Bieber make these already existing programs and cooperations the mainstay of HIS campaign?....since like I already stated...they already exist...so ....what is he offering us taxpayers that we dont already have? I love this last part about both departments should have long term goals to combine into one building so information, resources, tools, and cooperation can easily be managed and scheduled. This will allow us to provide better service to those who require our service while lowering costs of operations and training for our taxpayers. Now if I were a disgruntled employee, or a classic nut job intent on getting payback for an arrest....and oh say, wanted to bomb the police department....or the sheriffs dept....oh WAIT< 2 for....both at one time....the main COUNTY force AND the largest CITY force....neatly and conveniently housed in the SAME PLACE!! Great idea. You will be paying for both no matter what..whats wrong with the citys facilities? OK, Ill bite, exactly how much savings are we talking here? And at what cost would it be to accomplish this grandiose plan? Actually, I think we need a study...for feasibility, financial viability, logistics and expenses, a real comparison of the existing expenses at the City/County level vs a combination scenario.... could we please see that report by November 4th? After all this would be an excellent example of your abilities to get r done! That wont be a problem will it Mr. Bieber? Oh wait, how is it you are making plans for the CITY department? Are you certain you understand the office for which you have applied? *Finally and most important... I will maintain a respectable working relationship with our District Attorneys office and our County Board. I defer to my previous post as to the County Boards co operation with a Bieber admin vs a Wright admin, for all intents and purposes, the DA shows no sign of co operating with the Sheriffs office no matter WHO is in it. I rest my case....
