Other hazard reduction info for the weekend: NOTIFICATION OF PRESCRIBED BURNING OPERATIONS BLUE MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK Mt Bedford (2km South of Wentworth Falls to Woodford ) • The National Parks & Wildlife Service conducted a hazard reduction burn on Wed with the major operations along Ingar Rd scheduled for Saturday 10/5/2014. • The burn is approximately 2500ha and will be undertaken by NPWS with RFS assistance. • National Parks advises of the extra vehicle movements along Kings Tableland Road & Queen Elizabeth Drive. The burn will take 4-5 days to complete but smoke maybe emitted from the area for up to 10 days. • The Blue Mountains NP will be closed along Andersons & Ingar & Bedford Creek Fire Trails at various times. All bushwalking & cycling trails in the area will be closed until the area is declared safe. • It is expected that smoke generated from this burn will be visible throughout the Blue Mountains, specifically the villages of Wentworth Falls, Bullaburra, Hazelbrook, Woodford, Lawson and Linden. Smoke will be visible from the Great Western Highway when travelling through these villages.
