Other than albinism, the word ghosts, a derogatory and stigmatizing word which can lower others self-esteem and cause unhappiness, has been widely-used by many Chinese (including Hong Kong) government-related people in describing certain foreign-looking people (non-Chinese people from a particular racial/ethnic category or national origin, esp. westerners and Japanese) based on appearance. Highly recommended: Look up things about Mr. Ronald Takaki, a bright & brilliant wonderful Japanese professor, who taught in the United States (sadly, hes already passed away) and offered insights to racial & ethnic relations the United States. He has inspired many people (including his students & his students students & whoever admires him) about understanding and acknowledging different peoples cultural differences and hardships suffered throughout their lifetime, as well as respecting people from different races & ethnicities & countries. Many of his fans lament his loss in & out of the United States while at the same time treasure his contribution to the multicultural U.S., and even to the whole world. Recently: China keeps raising the issue about historical comfort women that has to do with Japan (i.e. current generation of Japaneses ancestors ancestors ancestors), in order demonstrate its odd motive, which is to stir anti-Japanese sentiment all around the world, so bad. HOWEVER, China forgot to raise its more recent China-specific issues, including but not limited to the following: - the way in which its governments (including Hong Kongs) have been treating their political dissidents within China and those whove already exiled to other countries. - it forgot to publicly apologize to many neighbouring countries including Japan and more, for its government-led negative contributions (which are in fact unwanted negative externalities, e.g. air pollutants/contaminants thatre being blown to the Japan & Taiwan across the waters, etc., worsening the problem of global warming) to the environment, and - it forgot to apologize to Vietnam, Phillippines, etc. for poaching too many sea turtles. ...Indeed, Chinas Tortoise speed in tackling its negative externalities to other countries must be addressed, realized and improved by China itself, without their excessive use of analgesic substances (which causes memory impairment) and without further delay.
