Our 17s fell short of the runs required today. A determined Newcastle team were on the ropes early (they won the toss and batted), with Zac and Alex (2) nabbing the openers. 37degrees of heat later and somehow Newcastle managed 7/256 after their 50 overs. Wickets also to Baz (2/18 from 6) and Dylan (2). Our chase started well with openers Jordan and Shaun but were both back in the sheds inside 10 overs. Rusty finished with 47no, Lachlan Bell starred with 35 from just 31 deliveries and a steady loss of wickets before and after the storm left us licking our wounds today as we could only muster 10/162. The boys took it well, were great helpers with the covers and go into tomorrows game against North Coastal with a renewed enthusiasm after a hearty meal at the local bowls club....
