Our 1st write up for #MadonnaDearest Can we get another Quinno Rashad? lol rantlifestyle/2014/10/31/madonna-dearest-answers-your-burning-pop-culture-questions/ Have you ever wanted to ask the Queen of Pop what she thought of today’s crazy pop culture world? Well, now you have the chance to do so — somewhat. Music channel VH1 and the hilarious co-creators of the YouTube parody series, “The Legends Panel” have teamed up to bring forth “Madonna Dearest”, a new web series where the “Material Girl” answers all of your questions. Like the aforementioned TLP, Madonna Dearest uses old clips from the legendary singer’s interviews to compile a Q&A session from random fans. Voice actress Nadya Ginsburg takes the vocal lead in the series, while TLP co-creators Phabian Mitchell and Lamont Hicks create the scripts. Mitchell and Hicks were lucky enough to have a high-powered fan in their midst; one that had a direct tie to VH1. The music channel reached out to them in hopes of bringing forth something new, but it was nearly dead in the water before it ever even began. Initially, VH1 had hoped to do the new series with the late Whitney Houston as the lead character (she’s a popular part of the TLP series, and is voiced by Mitchell himself). “We worked on the pilot and sent it to them, but some execs weren’t feeling it,” he revealed recently. “Whitney has passed and it’s kind of insensitive to use her this way.” However, what if we try the same idea with someone else you portray on The Legends Panel?”” Not so surprisingly, they all landed on one of the funniest characters from the show: Madonna. “They worked out all the legal aspects [and] we were introduced to [Ginsburg]. We came up with a wonderful pilot and it took a couple of months, but we finally got the green light.” The first episode hit the web earlier this week to much acclaim, and Hicks personally hopes that it’s a start of a wonderful relationship between the two talented young men, and the channel. “This is an extraordinary opportunity,” he says, “and Im very thankful to VH1 for the chance to expose our work to a larger audience.” Prepare to laugh loudly at the first episode of Madonna Dearest — and feel free to also check out the first episode of the show that started it all, The Legends Panel.
