(Our Annual list of the) TOP 10 BEST POETRY MOMENTS 10. Billy Collins (so sad that he died. he was funny in that weird surreal way. a real alive famous poet. wait, he didnt die?) 9. The Bible, Old Testament (older but not as famous as the New Testament but still pretty influential) 8. Maya Angelo (because she was referenced on this tv show I watched last night but now I cant remember what it was, Law and Order SVU? pretty famous. besides she did the inaugural poem or something which is a pretty big deal.) 7. Johnny Depp (because he sort of publically likes poetry even if its the beatniks and he helped get the memphis three murderes sort of free and then took them home and cooked them breakfast and taught them how to play the guitar) 6. Lorde (because her mama is a poet who supposedly goes out and collects dead animals and sometimes she lets Lorde edit her, plus shes awesome and Royals is probably the best poem of 2013) 5. Sylvia Plath (cause its freaking Sylvia Plath, the most super famous of the suicided poets) 4. The Bible, New Testament (because Jesus is still whats best about america) 3. James Franco writes some poems (ew, but still, hes famous) 2. Twilight star Kristen Stewart writes a poem (super famous, she is to James Franco what the new testament is to the old testament) 1. Ipad commercial featuring Robin Williams from a movie about poetry (no surprises here, its really moving and makes you want to go out there and contribute a verse)
