Our Daily Bread Snug As A Bug In A Rug ! | 12th of Dec 2014 by: David Roper Ps 91:9--16 When I was A child, my family lived in A house my father built IN the Cedar Breaks, West of Duncanville, Texas. R house had A small kitchen-dinette area, 2 bedrooms, nd A great room w/A large stone fireplace IN which we burned 2 ft-long cedar logs. That fireplace was the center of warmth IN R home. There were 5 ppl IN R family: my father/mother, A sister, A cousin, nd me. Since we had only 2 bedrooms, I slept yr round on a porch w/canvas screens that rolled down 2 the floor. Summers were delightful; winters were cold. I remember dashing from the warmth of the living room on2 the porch, tiptoeing across the frost-covered plank floor w/my bare feet, leaping n2 bed/burrowing under A great mountain of blankets. Then, when hail, sleet, or snow lashed R house/the wind howled thru the eaves like A pack of wolves, I SNUGGLED down IN sheltered rest. “SNUG AS A BUG IN A RUG,” my mother used 2 say. I doubt that any child ever felt so warm/secure. Now I know the greatest security of all: GOD Himself. I can “lie down IN peace, nd sleep” ( *Ps 4:8 ), knowing that Hes my shelter from the stinging storms of life. Enveloped IN the warmth of His love, I m SNUG AS A BUG IN A RUG. Leaning, leaning, Safe/secure from all alarms; Leaning, leaning, Leaning on the everlasting arms. Hoffman NO 1s MORE SECURE than THOSE who ARE IN GOD’s HANDS.
