Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy Kingdom - TopicsExpress

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. “If you forgive men their transgressions, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you do not forgive men, neither will your Father forgive your transgressions.” Jesus said you must forgive others for the Father to forgive you. You must have forgiveness in your heart in order to receive forgiveness. If you do not know forgiveness, know how to give it, or understand the power of forgiveness? How can you ever accept forgiveness? How can you ever forgive yourself if you can’t forgive others? God can only give us what we can receive. You can’t receive something if you don’t believe in it. Often times the hardest thing to learn is how to forgive ourselves. We all make mistakes in our lives, take what we consider to be the wrong path, do or say the wrong thing at the wrong time. It is a fact of life sooner or later; we all mess up. Forgiveness is not just saying, “oh well everything works out for the best, maybe I didn’t do the right thing then, but it’s all for a reason.” This is not forgiveness. Forgiveness is admitting, “I have sinned against this person or God, I regret doing so and I will strive to change so that in the future I will not make the same mistake twice.” Forgiveness comes when you put in the effort to change; when you put in the work to grow from the place where you have sinned. The sure reward which Jesus points out to his disciples is communion with God our Father. In him alone we find the fulness of life and happiness, and truth and love. Saint Augustine of Hippo wrote the following prayer in his Confessions: When I am completely united to you, there will be no more sorrows or trials; entirely full of you, my life will be complete. Amen!!!!
