Our God is an awesome God. Need proof? Let us consider the elements and the natural aspects of the world that are under His command. FIRE ------- Gen. 19:24: Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven. Exo. 13:21-22: And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night: He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people. Lev. 9:24: And there came a fire out from before the LORD, and consumed upon the altar the burnt offering and the fat: which when all the people saw, they shouted, and fell on their faces. 1 Kings 18:38: Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench. Heb. 12:29: For our God is a consuming fire. AIR/WIND --------------- Gen. 8:1: And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged. Exo. 10:19: And the LORD turned a mighty strong west wind, which took away the locusts, and cast them into the Red sea; there remained not one locust in all the coasts of Egypt. Jonah 1:4: But the LORD sent out a great wind into the sea, and there was a mighty tempest in the sea, so that the ship was like to be broken. EARTH ----------- Gen. 1:9-10: And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good. Gen. 2:7: And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Exo. 8:16-17: And the LORD said unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Stretch out thy rod, and smite the dust of the land, that it may become lice throughout all the land of Egypt. LIGHTNING --------------- 2 Sam. 22:14-15: The LORD thundered from heaven, and the most High uttered his voice. And he sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and discomfited them. Job 28:26-27: When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunder: Then did he see it, and declare it; he prepared it, yea, and searched it out. Job 37:3: He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth. Psa. 77:18: The voice of thy thunder was in the heaven: the lightnings lightened the world: the earth trembled and shook. Rev. 11:19: And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail. FOREST/PLANTS --------------------- Gen. 1:11-12: And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good. Gen. 3:18: Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field. Psa. 104:14: He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth. Matt. 6:30: Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? LIGHT ------------ Gen. 1:3: And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. Gen. 1:16-18: And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. Ps. 74:16: The day is thine, the night also is thine: thou hast prepared the light and the sun. Ps. 148:3: Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light. Rev. 21:23: And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. DARKNESS ----------------- Gen. 1:5: And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. Ex. 10:21-22: And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt. And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days. Josh. 24:7: And when they cried unto the LORD, he put darkness between you and the Egyptians, and brought the sea upon them, and covered them; and your eyes have seen what I have done in Egypt: and ye dwelt in the wilderness a long season. Ps. 104:20: Thou makest darkness, and it is night: wherein all the beasts of the forest do creep forth. Acts 2:20: The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come.
