Our Govt Remains Suntai’s Administration – Taraba Ag. Gov Written by LEADERSHIPfont size Print Email Be the first to comment!Rate this item12345(0 votes)Suntai-Garba Umar Despite the lingering crisis that has divided Taraba State into two since the return of the ailing governor, Pharmacy Danbaba Danfulani Suntai to the state, the acting governor of the state, Alhaji Garba Umar, has declared that the government he is running remains that of his boss, Governor Danbaba Suntai. Umar, who stated this yesterday in Jalingo at a meeting with the 16 council chairmen and traditional rulers in the state, said that there was no division in the structure of governance in the state, stressing that circumstances necessitated his becoming the acting governor of the state. He also revealed that the health condition of Governor Suntai has been improving by the day. “My boss is greatly improving and all what we need to be doing is now is to continue with our prayers to Almighty God to perfect his healing process,” he said. According to Umar, his administration is completely loyal to his boss, adding that Suntai is not only his boss but his brother. “Governor Suntai is my boss, brother and friend and I can’t engage myself in anything to undermine his authority,” he said. He further stressed that all the capital projects he had done in the past 11 months had been a continuation of the policies and programme of the ailing governor. “I have reminded myself that I will continue to do so until such a time that our leader is ready to take over his office” he noted. He further noted that some of the projects, programmes and policies of his principal that he had carried with or completed since he assumed office as the acting governor includes- the Jalingo-Sunkani Garba Chede read, the Bali Serti- Gembu federal road, the constructions of the 4km roads in each of the sixteen local government in the state, the payment of grants to the Taraba State University, the re-instated payment of running costs to ministries, departments and agencies, the payment of the new minimum wage to local government worker and the recruitment of various cadres of workers into the state civil service to address the complaints of manpower shortage. He assured sons and daughters of the state that efforts have been made to resolve the misunderstandings that have happened since the return of his excellence to the state. “The fruits of the dialogue are already coming to an end, and I am counting on all of you to do your part to explain to our people that things are not as bad as they appear. Everything is under the control and the almighty God is with us” he stressed.
