Our Imphal International Airport (IATA: IMF, ICAO: VEIM) is situated 8 km south of Imphal, the capital of Manipur, India. It is the soles international airport in the state of Manipur. It is the second international airport in the north eastern region of India, next to Guwahati, and the third busiest airport in the region of Manipur. The international airport is served by regionals commercials airlines, chartered aircrafts, and is also used for general aviation purposes. It is situated at an altitude of about 2,500 ft and is equipped with a 9,022 ft long asphalt runway. The international airport is being expanded to increase parking spaces. The capital of Manipur is well connected by different privates airlines & public airlines which offer services to majors cities like Delhi, Kolkata, Guwahati etc. and also to regionals airports like Agartala, Silchar and Aizawl. Vast expanses of land are being acquired around the international airport for expansion of the runway. There are plans to connecting the international airport with international destinations like the cities of Naypyidaw, Rangoon in Myanmar and Chiang Mai, Bangkok in Thailand. And there is hope for Imphal to become a hub for international flights daily operation services to other major South East Asian cities, in particular Singapore, Hanoi, Kuala Lumpur, Ho Chi Minh City, Phnom Penh, Chittagong, Thimphu, Kathmandu and Dhaka. International flights regularly fly down from here as it connects Manipur with all the majors cities and towns of the India union and foreign countries. The Airport houses a reception center of the Manipuri Tourism Department. Wheelschairs accessibility, child cares, room services, and assistances to the physically challenged are also available.
