Our Omnipresent God!( Dont like if you havent read!) The film Rabbit Proof Fence was a movie that i watched in my English Class in high school about ten years ago so I dont remember it that well. I was thinking of something that kept me up about two nights ago and was reminded of a powerful scene from this film. Molly a Aborignal in Australia during the 1930s is separated/ taken from her Mother along with her sister and cousin by a Chief Protector in hopes that someday that Aboriginal blood will diminish in the future if they intermarry with the Whites. The scene that popped up in my mind that evening was when Molly and her Mother were both touching the Rabbit Proof Fence being miles apart , in a sense they were connected only by the fence. Why I mention this is because when I had that thought bothering me , it brought me comfort because of the truth of our Omnipresent God! When we draw near to God in times of trouble , to talk to him or whatever we never really have God all to our selves. I know its almost impossible to grasp in our minds but thats the truth When we pray to God , most likely he is also hearing the prayer of one of his other children. The thing we need to understand at the same time he hears us and guides all of us , his attention is not divided! Our God is great and oh how were so limited in our knowledge of him that not even our imagination at times can help us to see that. In the the scene of Molly touching he fence the same time as her Mother, just makes me also think of When someone is thanking God in prayer , God is also attending to someone who is very troubled , or suffering, such as Christians in the present who are persecuted So just like that fence , all believers in Christ are connected/ united through prayer. We believers might be miles away but we cling on to a God is present to all , whether one might experience rain one side or sunshine on the other.( Even in one of the most remembered Pslams , Psalms 139. David claims that neither day or night can separate him from God , he is always there. At the same time , he is there for all!) When i say united , I dont want to get mixed up being united in our prayer by praying for the same thing but that were meeting with God at the same time.I dont even know if this illustration helps , but from thinking of that scene my mind went to focusing upon God and how hes able to be everywhere at once. There is also a comfort in not just knowing hes present to all but that hes is our great comforter, believers let us meet in prayer. Lets us pray especially for those who need it..
