Our Provincial Government has made a big show of publishing Mandate Letters detailing the responsibilities and expectations for the Minsters in each of the Cabinet positions of the Wynne government. They are full of high minded ideals and goals. One thing these letters do NOT contain is a section detailing the consequences for failing to deliver on the expectations of said mandates. THAT is one of the problems with government today. I decades past Ministers of the Crown would resign of their own accord when they failed to meet the standard, or crossed even the smallest of ethical boundaries. Today, those transgressions are greeted with a shrug. There is a Municipal Election coming in less than a month. It is time to start EXPECTING MORE from our elected officials. Educate yourselves and put people into office who understand that they work for YOU, instead of the other way round.
