Our Saxophone Professor - Hayrapet Arakelyan was born in Yerevan (Armenia) in 1991. Since 1999 Hayrapet studied at Alexander Spendiarian Music School with Prof. A.Manukyan. Since 2005 he has entered in the class of Professor Daniel Gauthier at the Music University (Musikhochschule) in Cologne, Germany. He had masterclasses with Professors Jean-Marie Londeix, Vincent David, Arno Bornkamp, Claude Delangle, Theodore Kerkezos etc.. Hayrapet Arakelyan is the First Prize winner of many international saxophone competitions, such as the Saxophone International Competitions in Nantes, the internatonal saxophone vompetition in Carcfu, Grand Prix in the Yamaha competition in Yerevan. In 2009 he won the federal competition fot young musicians ,, Bundeswettbewerb Jugend Musiziert“ and was distinguished by the,, Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben“ with a special prize. He is also a prizewinner of the International competition Adriatico in Ancona ,the VI International Competition in Oldenburg and a Special Prize winner of the Poznan Philharmonia, the International saxophone competition Selmer-Paris in Kiev,the International saxophone competition Marco Fiorindo in Torino ,the International Saxophone competition in Lodz. In 2009 he was distinguished by the ,, Senioren-Union der CDU in North Rhine-Westphalia „with the special Prize of the musical younger generation. In May, 2010 Arakelyan was representating Germany on the final of the Eurovision Young Musicians contest in Vienna. The performance was broadcasted in more than 18 countries live. The young musician had appearances in numerous festival , like the international festival in Paris, the international Aram Khatchaturian festival in the USA, XII International festival palaces of St. Petersburg, Aberdeen International Youth festival, the festival Assisi nel Mondo in Italy, Musical Olympus festival in St. Petersburg (2008), Zurich (2008), New York (2009), Berlin (2010), Singapore (2011), in the Riva del Garda and the Rheingau music festival.In 2011 he was first time invited by the Italian Saxophone Association to give a Masterclasses and a solo recital on XVII Stage internationale del Saxofono di Fermo. In addition, he had a concerts as a soloist with numerous orchestras like the Radio Symphony Orchestra Vienna, to the State Symphony Orchestra of the Hermitage in St. Petersburg, the State Chamber Orchestra of Russia, to the Poznan Philharmonic Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra of Armenia, the Chamber orchestra of Armenia, the Kölner Sinfonietta, to the Symphony Orchestra of Kaliningrad, Folkwang-chamber Orchestra and the Julliard School orchestra in New York. Hayrapet Arakelyan is also an activ chamber musician. As a member of variuos chamber music ensembles ,he had performances at many music festivals, among which the Mosel Festival, the Beethoven Fest in Bonn, the Schumans Festival in Dusseldorf, the Festival middle Europe, Festival Summerwinds in Muenster , Emilia Romanga Festival and New York Chamber Music festival. In the concert season 2009-2010 he worked together with the Alliage quintet. In 2010 Arakelyan founded a duo together with the pianist Gleb Koroleff. A year later, Arakelyan-Koroleff duo won the 1st prize and the special prize New York Debut at the International Chamber Music Competition Salieri-Zinetti in Verona. As a result followed numerous concerts in Italy and Germany with recordings by the radio RAI 3 and the Bavarian broadcasting company. Since 2012 he extended his chamber-musical visions and founded together with the pianist Rudolvs Vanks and the violinist Fedor Roudine the FRATRES TRIO.As an ensemble of the unusual formation, the Fratres trio excited quite fast the interest and was invited therefore shortly after the foundation to the festivals in Germany, Italy and Armenia and played live on the WDR 3.In March, 2013 the ensemble won the 2nd prize at the 18. International chamber music competition in Illzach. His debut CD French Connection with the works of Denisov, Milhaud, Borne, Swerts and Muczynski was released in spring 2012 with ARS Production. The CD production was supportet by the P.E.Förderkreis. Hayrapet Arakelyan leads concerts in numerous European countries as well as to Russia, Syria, Jordan, in Lebanon, in United Arab Emirates, to Singapore, in the USA and to Canada. Already at the age of 21 years he played in the Concert Halls of the Moscow conservatory, in the Carnegie Hall, in the Berlin Philharmonic hall, the Gasteig Hall in Munich and the Esplanade Hall in Singapore. Hayrapet Arakelyan has held a scholarship of the International Spivakov Fund,AGBU Fellowship Arts programm, he is a member of the Program Guzik Foundation Award Winners , Dr.Carl Dörken Scholarship, Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben and Solti Foundation .
