Our Society Show, would like to thank all who made comments on Fridays questions. On today segment of A Broken System, you will see a video of a man who cares about his community and how he is viewed by the press. The question to ask you today is what kind of community engagement with law enforcement would you like to see? Should we trust the media? Detective Christoper Derry and the Temple City Sheriffs Department has an overzealous approach when it comes to community engagement and investigating. Obviously, detective Derry did not care about the Pasadena/Altadena community because he had conducted his investigation a year before the arrest, had spent a significant amount of tax payers money in performing his investigation and concluded that their was no evidence to make an arrest. However, because of his authority, arrogance and decision to teach someone a lesson he made the arrest. As to the articles by the Pasadena Star-news on May 20, 2014 and Pasadena Weekly on May 28, 2014, both publications made statements to twist facts and make lies to sell papers which other media sources joined in to follow their story. Here is an example from Pasadena Weekly, Follow the money Sheriff’s officials claim local men committed $2.3 mortgage fraud using fake bank statements, and Pasadena Star-news reportered that I fabricated the false documents. Neither publication stated a motive for a license real estate broker to be involved nor what monies or commission was made from the alleged mortgage fraud with Countywide in 2007? Since the criminal charges were dropped on September 11, 2014, no press organization or publication has made an apology or formal retraction as to their original article. Please make your comments on how to fix this broken system.youtu.be/EO-OSTh1bpw
