Our annual trip to Georgia took us to Paranoia. This was our first year at this multi-attraction haunted house. As you wait to get your tickets you can check out some of the pictures that are being projected onto the side of a trailer as well as some great music that is being blasted for your enjoyment. Also watch out for some creatures that may be ready to sneak up on you. The inside of the ticket booth is pretty cool looking as well. Also as you wait to get into The Underground, you can watch whatever movie they have there for you to watch. For us it was House of 1000 Corpses. The Underground is a haunted house that takes you through some possessed subway tunnels with lots of demented creatures to keep you company. The second feature here is The Body Farm. This is a freak show sort of haunted house that shows you the creations of a made cosmetic surgeon. Scenes: I was amazed at the inventiveness of the scenes and props in The Underground. I do believe that this is the first time I’ve ever ridden a subway car in a haunted attraction. Each section is unique and very well done. There are many things here I have never seen before. There is an underground lake scene here that is cool as hell where you get to cross on a bridge. There is the slightest bit of dead space here but it is mostly used as transition areas but it really isn’t needed as it only serves to slow things down a bit. Also I was a little confused but a few of the areas that didn’t fit the overall themes, such as the clown area. The Body Farm was just as well done, though less so than Underground. There are some cool scenes in Body Farm. There isn’t as much wasted space and everything fits the overall theme. Rating: 4/5 Costumes: All of the costumes fit the themes of their rooms but not all of them fit the themes of their haunt. I’m mostly talking about the clowns again. I think the costumes in the Body Farm are the better out of the two attractions. There are some really cool makeup effects going on in there. The costumes in The Underground are really cool as well. I think the best costume was the character that was walking around outside scaring everyone. Rating: 4/5 Actors: This was the best part of Paranoia. These guys really see to love what they are doing. They all stuck to their characters and never once broke. I really liked the guy in the room before the subway. The subway driver was really good as well. All of the people in Body Farm were great, especially the young girl that was in the bathtub room. Most of them had great timing, though there was a couple instances where they group had already passed when someone jumped out. This only happened twice though. Rating: 4.5/5 Crowd Control: Both are unguided tours. This always has the potential for leading to crowd control issues. There are quite a few places where the actors have the opportunity to control the pace of the groups and they use it wisely. There were no problems with groups meeting up with each other. As we were waiting to get in, we could see where the groups were coming out and they seemed to be coming out at a steady pace. I really don’t see crowd control being much of a problem here but there is still the potential. Rating: 4/5 Atmosphere: The outside of this place really doesn’t look like much. This kind of brings you into a false sense of security as once you get on the inside things get somewhat intense. There is a somewhat rushed feeling to things as you are constantly being screamed at to move on or get out. That isn’t really a bad thing here as it is all part of the show. The coolness of the scenes just put things to another level. Thing could be slowed down just a bit though. Also let try to make everything match the theme. Other than that, this is a great attraction. Rating: 4/5 Overall Rating for Paranoia: 4.1/5 Paranoia is located at 608 Holcomb Bridge Rd. Roswell, GA. Tickets are $25 per person for both haunts. I recommend this attraction for ages 10 and up. For more information visit paranoiahauntedhouse. Happy Hauntings.
