Our class had quite the adventure today with our 1st butterfly that emerged. I was concerned from the beginning when it was in its cocoon because it was hanging horizontally as opposed to vertically. This presented a dilemma. Poor boy, was intertwined with the silky thread and we had to help it get loose without disturbing the other chrysalides or hurting his wing or feet. It was such a cool experience to have it cling to me for dear life because I could feel everything from its tickling feet to its spikes aka grippers at the end...pretty awesome.
