Our client is currently recruiting experienced High Voltage Commissioning Officers. Position Summary: Commissioning staff are responsible for the commissioning of HV electrical systems. Commissioning Officers (NSW) support the Engineering Manager in scheduling, planning and executing commissioning activities. Scope: This position is part of an Engineering Team. The incumbent will work with their Manager, Project Managers, Project Teams, Engineering Staff and other Commissioning Team members to provide excellence in engineering, ensure a safe workplace, a positive working environment, and a high level of staff morale. Key Performance Indicators for the Commissioning Officer (NSW): The following KPIs are required to effectively assess the performance of the incumbent during Performance Management discussions. • Successful delivery of commissioning projects: on time, within budget and meeting quality targets. • Maintenance of exemplary relationships with staff, clients, suppliers and other stakeholders. • A role model for professional behaviour. • Fulfilment of the responsibilities of the role. • Active participation in the development of business, ensuring repeat and new work. Assist the Business Development Manager with the preparation and review of tenders. Assist the Design Office to prepare and develop HV system designs for projects and bids under preparation. Creation of FAT and SAT documentation for installations to be commissioned; Carry out pre- commissioning tests and commissioning of new and refurbished parts and systems; Manage and supervise on-site work in accordance with project requirements and legislative and regulatory requirements; Provide timely “As Built” documentation • Achieve excellence in all responsibilities through creating, fostering and maintaining strong relationships with customers, all staff and other stakeholders. • Plan, resource, execute and monitor projects and initiatives to complete projects on time and within budget. • Ensure the smooth running of projects and other initiatives through appropriate processes, risk management and management skills. • Purchase plant and material required for projects, ensuring cost effectiveness through strong relationships with suppliers. • Proactively ensure the project management processes and procedures are constantly improved to eliminate inefficiencies and shorten cycle time. • Manage the divisional budget and project budgets, reporting monthly to Management on project progress and budget status. • Achieve a high level of technical/ engineering output, complying with systems and processes and building efficient work practices. • Provide drawing and document control in the office, maintaining an accurate filing administration system in relation to project correspondence, design documentation and drawings. • Highly satisfy all customers through effective, professional communication and the successful completion of projects to client requirements. • Manage the flow of documents and information to clients, suppliers and related third parties. • Participation in the periodic collection of Customer Feedback, identifying opportunities for stronger relationships, added value to the customer and process improvements. • Actively create and maintain a safe and healthy work environment by working safely and using equipment in accordance with safe operating procedures. • Participate in worksite inspections, accident reporting and investigations, develop safe work procedures and provide appropriate information, instruction, training and supervision as required. • Address any unsafe working practices or hazardous working conditions in your area. Actively ensure the WHSE System is implemented and maintained, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and established performance standards: • Actively create and maintain a safe and healthy work environment by working safely and using equipment in accordance with safe operating procedures. • Participate in worksite inspections, accident reporting and investigations, develop safe work procedures and provide appropriate information, instruction, training and supervision as required. • Address any unsafe working practices or hazardous working conditions in your area. • Continually develop yourself in technical/ engineering skills, Management/Supervision ability (where appropriate) and “soft skills” (Self Growth, Self-Awareness, Interpersonal skills), to continue to meet the needs of the Company. • Model professional conduct according to the values of the Company at all times. 2. Specialist Knowledge and Experience Requirements Experience: 5 years Commissioning experience. Essential Demonstrated successful experience of Project Management of HV System Commissioning projects. Essential Demonstrated knowledge of WHSE. Essential A general knowledge of the principles of Diversity and Equity. Essential Some understanding of Project Tender and Estimating Requirements. Desirable Some understanding of Project Financial requirements.
