Our coming campaign: This will be a set of three Postcards including one from Syrian Art Collective Masasit Mati. This is one of the three cards: Razan Ghazzawi-Civil Society Activist-Syria: “If anything happens to me know that the regime does not fear the prisoner but rather those of you who don’t forget them” In Syria: Over 150,000 people have been killed, almost 8,000 of these were Children. More than 90,000 Political Prisoners are being held to date by the Assad Regime. 6 million People are displaced within Syria and over 2 million have fled the country. Many millions are going hungry. Starving. We can only imagine the emotional costs: Unspeakable grief and loss. On the face of it we experience these as facts and numbers but please know that every one of these numbers, each of the 150,000 dead, the 90,000 kidnapped and the 8 million displaced, each of these is a person, a Family, entire Cities. Imagine it being your life, your child’s, your Community. One of the things we can do is to seek out the voices, experiences and truths of Syrian People who are involved in seeking Justice, Peace and the Freedoms they deserve within the Syrian Uprising. The media focuses on the Politicians and Players who have very little to do with what is happening on the ground in Syria. Infrastructures have been blown to bits and Syria is being held up, held together by many of the same People, the same Activists who demanded a new Syria to begin with. Their voices say no to descriptions about a “Syrian conflict” or “Civil War”. They want you to know that they are still here at the core of this Uprising but surrounded on all sides by the Assad Regime and by groups like Isis and al qaeda with whom they are not aligned. Let us start by hearing their voices. Let us support their voices by passing them forward. Here are some amazing places to start listening: razanghazzawi.org budourhassan.wordpress leilashrooms.wordpress masasitmati.org The Global Campaign of Solidarity With The Syrian Revolution
