Our conscious mind directs only 5 to 10 percent of our activities, while the major work is done by our subconscious mind. But the conscious mind is always jumping from this thought to that thought, from the past to the future, imagining, worrying, agonizing, creating, fantasizing and many such activities. As a result, the conscious mind is often absent in the present moment, since it is somewhere else. And many of our acts are dictated by our subconscious mind which is filled with years of memories, experiences, beliefs, conditioning, irrational fears and doubts, self defeating patterns, intense craving for safety and security etc. The result is seen in the mess we make of our lives, both personally and professionally. It is imperative that we become aware and constantly keep bringing the conscious mind back to the present.
