Our current BOC circumstance is full of complexity and it is - TopicsExpress

Our current BOC circumstance is full of complexity and it is difficult (and not fair) to classify the Individual Motives based upon the group results. I don’t think the 3 gentlemen vote their ‘block’ for the same motives. But, that does not change the results of their actions. I do believe Allen, Mr. Bissell, Commissioner Bissell, strives to do the “right thing”. I feel his good intentions are sometimes clouded by emotion (often involving important votes), but in the end, I think he feels he is doing the right thing. That does not nullify the impacts, but it does mean I don’t feel he seeks out the ‘wrong way’. Stuart? Well…I have experienced the lies that come from his way of doing business (16 year olds at my bar). I have watched others feel the brunt of those lies (corruption in the SGA). I know firsthand the pressure put on small businesses to adhere to his campaign signage requirements. I have been called into a private meeting to confront me on a ‘hacking arrest record’ that does not exist…simply so I would go away. Sutton? I don’t have much thought there other than he has misled me personally, to my face and I have watched his conduct in meetings on how he conceals motive and withholds information and disrespects the process from his hand gestures to his line of disingenuous questions. 3 People - 3 Humans, subject to error like any of us, but together finding themselves in a bizarre alignment for different, but no less flawed, inspirations/drivers. It is like the Perfect Storm. We are not in a ‘bad’ place. We are on the cusp of truly wonderful things…for our governance, for our city, for our citizens. We just need to embrace our failures. Recognize them! Analyze them! Own them! Conquer Them! NASA is an innovative government organization. I think we can all agree on that. If NASA had not experienced SO MANY failures (AND recognized them) we NEVER would have put a man on the moon. Many, many rockets exploded in failure and were Recognized and Analyzed to bring success. We are human. That is how it works. We MUST get out of the business of denial. I assure you shedding that load helps us all - Candidates, Commissioners, our City, and our Citizens.
