Our day of destiny has arrived, we are part of a generation that - TopicsExpress

Our day of destiny has arrived, we are part of a generation that has the opportunity to change Scotland forever, we have the chance to finish the job started by our fathers, mothers and grandparents, they never lived to see this day but their contribution to our nation was every bit as vital as the part we play in it. So we do this for them, we do this for the many comrades and friends that never made it to this day. I would like to give a mention to my old friend Mick Fullerton who also never made it to this day, Mick was an enthusiastic member of the Campaign for a Scottish Assembly and I still have the picture of myself and him having a drink with Hamish Henderson in Sandy Bells in Edinburgh after the big march there. I have always believed in independence and tomorrow I and many millions of Scots have the chance to turn that belief into reality, to make a new Scotland, a Scotland for our children, so that they can look back in years to come and say Look what my mum and dad did. A fairer Scotland, not a bitter snarling Scotland that Gordon Brown has shown us in the last few days. Let September 18th 2014 go down in history as the day when Scotland woke up and officially ended the British Empire forever.
