...Our dealings with some people can be likened to observing wildlife in the field: Watching, studying, and learning about the beasts. Admiring their beauty and power. Being completely in awe. The animals may allow us to touch, pet, or even nuzzle them, which makes us feel at-one with, and accepted by them. And, hey, how cool would THAT be? To be friends with a Grizzly Bear! But, at the end of the day, this is the wilderness and these ARE wild animals. And no matter how much we would like to be a part of their world, the truth is, we never will be. And as it always is with bears and wolves, and other carnivores; when we get too close, too relaxed; the moment our backs are turned, is the moment we realize that that trust has come at a terrible price.
