Our district police are working with the Wichita Police Department in an area search for an individual reported as a suspicious character. He was seen rattling outside door handles at Maize South Middle School earlier this afternoon, attempting to gain access to the building. He was unsuccessful. He has been described as a white male in his 50s with short gray hair and a receding hair line, 5-foot-9-inches, 190 pounds wearing a black sleeveless T-shirt and light-colored shorts. As always, we ask our community to please help keep our schools safe by reporting any suspicious activity you ever witness to 911.
