Our faith in God is demonstrated, and thus made manifest, by our love for God and willingness to obey His commandments. This is learning point in Abraham, "By faith Abraham, being tried, offered up Isaac: yea, he that had gladly received the promises was offering up his only begotten even he to whom it was said, In Isaac shall thy seed be called: accounting that God is able to raise up, even from the dead; from whence he did also in a figure receive him back". (Hebrews 11:17-19 ASV). Faith expresses itself in our love actions that obey God without question and thus fulfill His will. It is this love and obedience that Jesus made a condition for the promise of the Holy Spirit when He said, "If ye love me, ye will keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may be with you for ever, even the Spirit of truth: whom the world cannot receive; for it beholdeth him not, neither knoweth him: ye know him; for he abideth with you, and shall be in you". (John 14:15-17 ASV)
