Our feature artist for December 2014 is Lindsey Graham – Printmaker Lindsey has demonstrated how a latent talent can be re discovered and lead to beautiful art with international appeal. In 2005, Lindsey was persuaded to attend a print making workshop while on holiday. She had done O level art but nothing since. The course had her hooked and she began to study printmaking with Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College – the end result being a Higher Professional Diploma in printmaking with distinction at West Hertfordshire College. A remarkable achievement from someone who also had a demanding full time career in healthcare. Original fine art prints are images created from hand crafted plates produced by the printmaker. It is possible to ink up a plate in many different ways before the image is transferred to another surface, usually paper. The final result is never certain until the paper is peeled away– a serendipity that has continued to fascinate Lindsey since her first introduction to the art.
