Our first official press release! For immediate release: Cast of A-List New Zealand actors join science fiction comedy pilot ‘Johnny Ruckus’ to be filmed at Wellington’s Avalon Studios. LMAO Productions and Avalon Studios have announced that William Kircher (The Hobbit), Antonia Prebble (Outrageous Fortune, White Lies), Byron Coll (Top of the Lake, Home by Christmas) Monique Bree (Go Girls), K.C. Kelly (Hook Line and Sinker) and Richard Falkner (How to Meet Girls from a Distance) will form the ensemble cast for Johnny Ruckus a science fiction comedy written and created by brothers Douglas and James Van Belle, produced & directed by Geoff Husson. William Kircher plays the infamous Johnny Ruckus, who must scramble to help two idiot brothers (Coll and Falkner) extend their skill set beyond the questionable practice of pre-emptive salvage. Their mother’s sudden death places the fate of an interstellar criminal organization into their hands. The result is a planet-hopping science fiction comedy full of mayhem and misadventure. Antonia Prebble, who plays the boys’ less than reputable sister Pepper, said: ‘It’s such a fun role to play and I’m excited to be working with Byron Coll, can’t believe we haven’t done so before now.’
