Our founding fathers and mothers made many sacrifices for the good of the country. Martha Washington loaded her carriages/wagons with as much food, clothing, and medicines as she could and took them to Valley Forge and stayed the winter. She also organized other women to do the same and organized sewing activities to mend the mens clothing, while enduring the cold with the men. It is doubtful they would have survived since Congress did nothing to supply them. Yes, George Washington also prayed. Read the latest biography.
