Our goals are lofty and our task is daunting, but weve never backed away from any challenge. Our long-range goal to rebuild and restore the athletic programs at our alma mater, beginning with our immediate goal of raising $3500 to field a team of local 9 and 10-year-olds is far from being reached, however, we got off to a good start today, due in no small part to Caryn Robinson, Michael Broomfield, Andre Grice aka Drake, Randy Nunez, Raquel Rivas, Morris J. Chavez, Richard L Wooten, and my big brother Kevin Malone giving to the kids. The aforementioned individuals may not think their contribution of $20, $40, or $60 makes much difference, but the foundation they help lay today will be the cornerstone of our rebuilt community tomorrow. If we are able to get even HALF of our alumni base on this page to match this generosity, many boys and girls would benefit from our collective investment in their future. Some of us may not care what happens, but there are many of us who are not content to write off the neighborhoods that lie in the 87106, 87108, 87110, or 87123 ZIP Codes, but those of us who still are can join us in our efforts to strengthen these communities by empowering the children who attend the same elementary and middle schools many of us once attended via athletics and other positive activities.
