Our government is structured in a way that the only say we have in - TopicsExpress

Our government is structured in a way that the only say we have in legislation reform is through voting for elected officials. These officials represent our views in congressional bodies and are expected to align their votes with coinciding views of their constituents. Unfortunately, in todays political environment it seems we are forced to choose between two major political parties, neither of which have our best interest in mind but the interests of wealthy multinational corporations who lobby for or against legislative policies. This is well known to the general public. The natural inclination is to abstain from participation by not voting, but this action in and of itself removes an individual citizens power in the political process. By choosing not to vote, an individual is relinquishing all say in public policy.
