Our latest trumpet podcast has posted featuring Roy Poper. Roy shares all kinds of great stories and trumpet advice, covering his long relationship with James Stamp, his professional trumpet experience, and his move out of L.A. to teach trumpet at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. Be sure to check out Roys classical solo album L.A. Trumpet Works (available on iTunes), and his book Roy Popers Commentaries on the Brasswind Methods of James Stamp published by Balquhidder Music. One side note: if youve ever played in a Top 40 band and covered any of Rick Jamess charts, youll want to listen in. Roy recorded most of the original tunes and has some great stories (and surprises) about recording with Rick.
