Our legal system needs to stop systematically protecting police officers who show little restraint in use of a deadly weapon or what most reasonable people would call excessive force. The cases of Michael Brown, Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner, Jamal Jones, and others show that police are legally allowed to use excessive force with minute provocation. The decisions of Darren Wilson and George Zimmerman not to be charged were legally sound, and thats the scary part. Cops can beat the shit out of you if you push back in any way, use a weapon if they feel outnumbered, and even civilians do not have to show restraint if they feel threatened. Change the law.
