Our little sausage dog, Magic, isnt doing so well. He ate some mouse poison at the cabin last weekend. Gene immediately got him to the vet, they induced vomiting and said he should be fine. 6 days later- his blood is not clotting, lungs are slowly filling with blood, hes on oxygen and its not looking good. Only time will tell what happens first- the vitamin K kicks in and blood starts to clot again, or the lungs get so full he cant breathe any more. I am trying to resist the temptation to point a finger...but why o why didnt the vet in Red Lodge give him a Vitamin K shot, as we now know would have been the proper thing to do? The little guy just HAS to make it!! As much as I complain about his barking and other endearing behaviors, we love him so much and I cant imagine him not here.
